I went Yard Sailing Friday and Saturday and on Friday I got a 1/72 scale Hasegawa F4F-4 with the inner bag still sealed and also got a 1/72 scale Airfix TBD-1 Devastator paid 6 bucks for both. Saturday I went back to the same Yard Sale and picked up a Fujimi 50th Anniversary of the end of WW2 2 in 1 kit of the Japanese Val Dive bomber (and when I say 2 in 1 I mean 2 kits in one box) then I also picked up a 1/35 scale Tamiya KettenKraftrad and also a Tamiya 1/48 scale Hawker Siddley Harrier Jump jet that is unassembled and features a detailed engine. And I paid 27 bucks for all three (well 4 since the Val kit two models in it). And Today I went to the local consignment shop and found a 1/72 scale Monogram Goshawk with all the parts there but missing the decals. and then I found a Avro Vulcan from Lindbergh with all the parts present even had the decals and a couple articles from the 1970’s on a remote controlled Vulcan (no its not how to addapt the kit for RC it was for a large scale version using a pusher motor) and I paid 2 bucks for both.
Sounds like you did well with your modeling $. Enjoy the builds.
Regards, Rick
Lucky you! I especially envey the goshawk!

Is that Vulcan 1/48th? If it is, you got a STEAL! I’ve seen one go on Evil-Bay for over £250 GBPs… bear that in mind before you put X-acto to plastic [;)]
no its the 1/8 inch equals 1 foot scale which I think is the early 1/72 scale but I still need to find decals for the Goshawk
Great job. I’m envious about the Val kit. Post pics when you build!
If my maths are correct, that’s 1/96th scale, which is indeed an odd scale. My 1/72nd scale Airfix bird would dwarf that, I think?
if it was 1/96 scale wouldn’t that make it a rare scale?
Nice work. I must try to look for some yardsales.
It would in my book, and a Vulcan at that. Very old school if you ask me, and could be worth a few pennies to a collector. I’d be surfing the interweb thingy trying to get a value if I were him… [:)]
well I went Yard saling again yesterday and came home with a 25mm ammo can, a Clip for a M1 Garand complete with 8 rounds of Armour piercing bullets, a Survival knife, a expensive looking magnification visor with 3 different magnification settings, and 3 models 1 1/72 scale GR.1 Panavia Tornado, 1 Panavia IDS Tornado 1/72 scale and a 1/35 scale M42 Duster. The Tornados are both Hasegawa kits with the IDS being an Advance Scout kit. And both kits are complete with every single part and I got both for 10 bucks each. And the M42 I also got for 10 bucks and it is also complete with all parts.
[:O],Drat![banghead], Yardsales! Count me in as a yardsailer from now on!
Hey mike…
is that Val by any chance a 1/48 Fujimi kit???
I have one but no instructions…wonder if you may be able to help out.
Thanks
CS
no Carl it isn’t 1/48 scale it is 1/72 scale and it is a 2 in 1 kit which means there are 2 models of the Val in 1 box and it is the 50th anniversary 2 in 1 kit which is now OOP.
