Weirdo on the go... and update on another cutie..!

Azur is fast becoming my favourite manufacturer… With the likes of this 1/72 Breguet 27 for instance!

Here are the ‘major’ parts assembled and/or ready to be puttied and sanded. Not an easy kit by any means, chiefly because of lack of real hard info on the subject. It’s still hfun to build (so far!), and should look great and bizarre when completed!

Here’s a (blurred!) view of the trailing edge of the wing showing the left side being thinned down to a ‘comfortable’ level…

And to finish off this post, here’s a view of my 1/72 Azur Dewoitine D.371 awaiting decals…

Yup, that’s pretty wierd DJ. The cockpit looks like it actually has some detail. Did you scratch it/some of it or did it come with it?

It looks like someone built the front 3/4 of the plane, quit building and then suddenly remembered to include the tail group.

Yes, you are both quite right, it just does not look right! Azur normally provides the main airframe in a soft grey plastic and a number of resin details. The canopy (canopies in this case) are vacuformed. The decals are really nice and the instruction sheet pretty good too.

With this Breguet 27, all the inside of the cockpit, plus intakes and exhaust pipes, the MG and its mount are resin. In the cockpit, were provided the ‘floor’ (a beam that extend to the tail unit in the real world), pedals, sticks, seats, instrument panel, full size (top to bottom) side panels, throttle, and a few other little bits. This makes the ‘office’ look very busy.

I’ve now completed the thinning down of the trailing edges. The small pair of wings had a few ‘ridges’ that did not match between the understide and the upper side, so I scrapped them down and re-made them with sheet styrene. I should be able to tackle the main assembly today.
