“pj” first impressed me with his 1:72 figure sets and later on with his 1:35 figures and dioramas. And now for the first time, he painted 1:16 figure for me. The result is here and I’m very satisfied:
Figure: Wehrmacht Tank Crew DAK 1:16 (Tamiya’s) - by “pjareanwanit” or “pj”:

This is from my latest page:

There are 6 more vignettes/dioramas painted by the same artist (“pj”) there.
Comments and suggestions are welcome!
That is a very cool figure kit, where did you come across it?
Thanks, smeagol! I came across it on a HK hobby site while searching for 'tank crew". Thinking that I should lt ‘pj’ try painting bigger scale, I ordered it for $12.39 + $2.55 shipping. In fact, this kit Tamiya released since 2005
but I’ve never had one before.
The lizard is what interests me, I looked up the kit but the image of it was poor, does it come with that lizard or is that after market?
Skin tones look very good. The face and eyes look very realistic. The uniform, insignias and medals look great.
Not to take away from a very well painted figure but I did notice a couple of things. The tropical boot leather parts should be a red brown, not black. The goggle frames should also be brown or a different color from that of the uniform. The goggle strap is also missing. Goggle lenses should be I believe transparent green, not only to protect the eyes from sand but from the sun too. I have this in my stash and it will build up to a very nice display.
A very cool figure and shows the DAK in a candid and refreshing way, as most German troops are depicted as either looking mad at the world or threatening. Well done!
