Weekend progress at Swanny's Models

My attention is focusing on two of the builds on my desk at the moment, the 1/72 Bv-138 is coming along but needs lots of filler. It seems like every piece be it wing, boom, air-intake or elevator needs some filler at some point or another. Most of the main aircraft parts are finally together …

The other project is of course the Ju-87 Stuka. All priming and preshading have already been completed. I painted and masked off the yellow identification bands then decided to paint the landing gear before anything else. Once they were done and masked off the lower surfaces were done. Next I’ll start working the splinted camo.

Probably would have gotten more done but had to dig up all the summer bulbs from the flower gardens this weekend and put down the spring bulbs. If I can’t model I guess playing in the dirt ain’t all bad.

Looks like your as busy as me Swanny!

Nice work as always Swanny.

Great work so far on an undermodeled subject. Can’t wait to see some dorsal color!

Looking nice so far…which kit is that?

I beleive it’s a Bv-138

Looking good Swanny!

Looking good Swanny. Keep us posted.

Their coming along. At least a little work is better then none. That 138 is certainly differant to see.

Is the BV138 kit the old Airmodel kit?

This one I am building is under the Super Model name but Revell Germany purchased the masters last year and has reissued the kit. It is already on store shelves in Europe and is expected in the states any day.

Swanny-will it have the deguassing ring?

Looking good Swanny [tup] Just curious though, looks like you’ve already painted the turrets and maksed them with some kind of clear liquid mask. Am I correct? I hate having to instal the turrets when the fuselage is glued together, makes masking and painting a nightmare. Just wondering if this is your technique for getting around that.

Nice work. Keep the photos coming.

Looking superior as always Swanny, cant wait to see the completed projects!

This will not have the degaussing ring but will be done in a winter scheme.

The turrets are not masked with a clear film. I did it this way because of the manner that the fuselage covers the bottom of the turret in an uneven pattern. I plan on remasking them before painting and I do expect it to be a real pain in the butt. I did try installing them masked first and it just was not going to work.

Yo Swanny[^][:D][:)][#dots] lookin’ good!

Can’t wait to see the JU-87!!![:p]
