I won a vintage Monogram F-16 kit @ eBay.
What’s the best way to paint and weather the panels on a kit with old-fashioned raised panel lines? I mean other than rescribing the lines with a scribing tool?
My first thought was pre-shading/post-shading. Anything else I can do?
Last months issue of FSM had some good tips.
Ahh, the old raised panel line dilemma. The first couple of kits I’ve built have had RP’s and the weathering stunk. I’ve read (in FSM actually) where use a black preshade, then “lightly” sand over the rivets/PL’s after base is on. Some also will use charcoal pencil and trace over the lines, others claim a sludge wash applied and dried, then lightly removed also works.
That was a good article .i an starting a new build with raised lines. should be fun trying new ideas .
