I have some small scale firearms from various kits. I searched the site for techniques used to weather firearms but came up empty. I did find some great informative info on weathering i.e., rust, sludge, wear and tear. Specifically, I was looking for information on weathering gun barrels. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks…
i usually drybrush them with steel after i undercoat them with flat black or gunmetal
Lones technique is great, instead of a shiny silver look, they get a worn steel look. Sometimes a thin, dark colored wash can bring out the details nicely.
You could also try taking a 2B pencil and ‘color’ the gun. The graphite gives it a metallic, blueing effect. Works real well…
