Washi tape

What’s this tape’s brand and name at Michael’s?

I couldn’t name the brand there. It will be in the papercrafting department. It will say that it’s Washi tape, whatever brand you see.

I bought a pack or various widths and prints meant for scrapbooking to try out and have mixed results. I found that that the adhesive was not consistant from one roll to another. Some stuck down too much and pulled paint, others started to peel away within a few hours.

Depending on the print on each roll, I found some conformed better then others to curves etc. When cut into thin strips, each roll also had unpredicable results. I stopped using them as my primary tape and went back to Tamiya. I now am using the rolls that do work as filler masking tape once I have the area outlined by tamiya tape.

I have been using tamiya tape for years. Its predicable, has good flex, can be kept on for months with no ill effects, cuts clean, the dispensing case keeps the tape edge dust free.

I do not feel the washi tape is a replacement but may have its uses.
