I’ve always wanted to make a century series fighter collection and I was just wondering if there was ever a F-103 designed and if not why the U.S air force skipped a number.
thank you in advance!

Yep,
Designed by Republic but cancelled during development.
Check it out:

There were also an F-107, two of which were built and flown, and an F-108 & 109 that never made it past the mock-up stage. The F-110 was what the Air Force originally called the F-4.
Hi, got this Kit of the F107A yet??
Funny you should ask. Wings/Airpower has an article in the latest issue, with drawings and pictures of mockups.
I just purchased an F107A Ultra Sabre from squadron last month Trumpeter #721605 for $14.46 According to WPAFB therr were three built PS its a 1/72 scale
There was a design competion for the F-103 held in the early 50s I believe. It was supposed to be a point defense fighter launched from a vertical launch ramp. Actual aircraft was never built. There was one model of it out sometime in the mid to late 50s, Ideal produced it I believe. If you can find one, its probably worth about as much as Aurora’s “Godzilla on a Skate Board” kit.
Curiously enough there is another “F-103”. That is the Brazilian airforce(Força Aerea Brasileira) local designation for their Mirage III`s.
cheers!
