Do not paint these with any solvent based paints, it will not dry and it will ruin the tracks. However if you use an akrilic like tamiya as a base coat, then you can paint over that. I just ruined a set of elephant tracks due to this. Bill
Thanks for the warning here Bill! Since I usually paint my tracks this will really help avoid any problems.
Hang in there Bill, maybe Dragon will send replacements.
To be honest Guys, I’m rather disappointed so far with those new Dragon kits… Bought the M1A1 Abrams and more recently the Panther G and I can not help looking at them and seeing toys rather than models. The Panther’s metal hull is a bit of a pain. Will make it harder to do any work on it.
I mean both are quite good in some respects, probably better than the other Abrams and Panther G kits around (comparing with the Hasegawa Panther G in particular), but I’ve seen better details in many other kits from Revell, and from Emhar, and even to some extent from Italeri/Esci. And I do think that despite their excellent details, those vinyl tracks are a step backwards comparing to the Esci and Revell link/section type of tracks…
What’s your opinion…?
Haven’t built one, but they look good in the box.
Actually, I have the built-up Jagdpanther (gadzooks!), and I quite like it.
Very nice for a “toy,” actually!
Ive found it to be acurious mixture of great and sub-par toy like. Example. The strum tiger i’m building has really crappy sprockes, but it has the correct double middle road wheel. So here combing a revel kit and a dragon kit really gives some great results. I havnt buil the dragon panther kit, but i have the revel of germany one, and that is by far the most fantastic piece i have seen. Also dragonis bringing out a lot of new releases so what the hey. Combing two kits ot make a super one, all for under 20.00 stillisnt bad. Ive found dragons tracks to be super detailed, no sinkholes. Just the painting problem, now solved. I lookforward to working in new mediums, so i dont mind the white metal. Bill
Thanks for the heads up Bill. I hope you are able to find replacement tracks.

Was it dragon or hasegawa that produced 1:72 RC tanks… Maybe they’re somehow related?
