War Weary Oscar,,, Nichimo 48th Scale

Built this one quite a few years ago, still one of my favorite Japanese WWII aircraft.

Palm tree is scratchbuilt. Not sure I recall where the figure is from…

All comments welcome, hope you enjoy

Great job on the weathering, looks just right. The groundwork looks very realistic too.[B]

Really like what you’ve done there! Its nice to see the non traditional sort of brownish-copper finish, not something you see every day. I’ve seen references suggesting dark blue Oscars as well. I have Hasegawa’s 1/32 Oscar but I haven’t decided on a paint scheme yet…again, yours looks fantastic!

Very nice What color is that brown?.

Sharp job! Great looking Ki-43 and the dio looks good too.

Great looking build!

Nicely done weathering it really looks the part!

Thanks you all, I certainly appreciate your comments.

Khalee, I wish I remembered what brown I used. This build is probably 15 + years old… It was a Polly S and specifically noted as some sort of Japanese air color, dam*ed if I remember though. I would think anything somewhat resembling could be used. All, actual, wartime paints went through serious transitions due to shelf life, types of thinner, where the aircraft were stationed, useage, etc. Some people get too picky about “exact” color matches.

This is very nice…

That’s some really great work there. Love the colors and weathering. Give me more Japanese A/C!

F in A! Nice job. I love Japanese A/C…not exactly 100% sure why…maybe the cool paint schemes they had. You can also go crazy with weathering and no one could say you`re wrong! LOL

Manny, Tiger, Len, thanks again

Most gracious for the comments…
