I’ve been asked about this “background car” several times, so here she is.
This ol’ gal is an oldie but goody.

Nice and clean, very well done.
Looking at it, I can see a kind of reverse “T” bucket. VW engine exposed and the nose just about like this one. I might try something like that with a VW kit I have.
Nice Kustom!
Very nice build! [t$t] You make it look soooooooooo easy. As the words of an old old song go “Jealosy, it’s crawling all over me.”

Hi;
Funny you should post this. I just got finished reading the History of the bug and how to restore them. They had a few good photos of both the Hebmuller cars and the old original " Bug Eyed" V.Ws.
Cool!
Thanks, everyone.
Much appreciated [Y].
The ol’ girl was fun to build.
Nice surgery!
That is pretty cool and well done!

Amazing how a fenderless VW can be turned into a hammered street rod and look so good. I’m amazed there weren’t a lot of these on the streets in the 50’s -'60’s.
I’ve been obsessed with building classic drag cars lately. Your beautiful builds are inspiring me to take a break and attempt a simple mild early custom…an unbuilt Revell '50 Olds is calling to me from my stash…
I did a couple of simple cars not long ago, that didn’t take much time, but they were really fun.
It was nice to take a break from the more complicated stuff.
