Today, on the 39th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon, and the end of that war, I am putting out the feeler announcement for a Vietnam War GB on here. It will kick off August 4th 2014 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Tonkin Gulf Incident, and run until April 30th 2015, the 40th Anniversary of the Fall of Saigon. This GB willbe open to any and all subjects that participated in the Vietnam War, post 1957, land, sea, or air, any scale, any medium, from all nations involved (US, NVN, SVN, Aussie, ROK,Laotian, Thai, Cambodian,Chinese, Soviet) including “civil” subjects such as chartered airliners (Freedom Birds) or Soviet “fishing trawlers” tailing US Carrier battle Groups.
Rules of Engagement:
1) Any kit, any scale or subject in any medium- plastic, resin, paper, metal, etc. of any subject that participated in directly or support of the war In Vietnam during the post Geneva Accords perios from 1957 thru 1975 with the fall of Saigon and immediate aftermath operations such as the Mayaguez Incident. Land, Sea, or Air, figures, dioramas, everything!
2) Crossovers with other GBs are allowed
3) Prestarted are allowed, up to 20% done
4) Post pictures, sharing your work is an absolute must!!!
5) Share your knowledge and information- I know that there are a lot of members here who served in some way connected to this war, or had freinds or family members who did, Please share anything and everything that you think may help a fellow participant here.
6) No politics!!! I know this is a fine line to tread in this subject area. Stick to the facts when discussing aspects of the build(s), not opinions regarding those facts.
