Yes the 106 is fine, just don’t get too far off topic
Do these seats really sit that low? I pushed it up as much as possible! Saftey first!
Should i fill this in and smooth it out?
There we go the top of the fuselage is filled and sanded!
Yes, the F-4 had a very low profile cockpit
Nevermind it fits… Here is my ugly heading indicator
Here she sits now… Black or red stripes? you choose
Will someone please use the GB badge I made?
Ready to paint the wheel wells…DONE!
now the ugly mess that white paint reigns upon modelers… especialy me![6]
cleaning time!
clean yay![:D]
no skywarrior love?
Making good progress there, pilot. Gawd!! Do I hate having to spray white…or any primary color for that matter. I don’t know why they are so difficult to thin to my liking. Either too runny of clog the brush!
As for badge: I’d love to use one but I don’t feel I’ve earned it. I don’t even own a kit that would qualify as of yet. Plus, maybe we could get some other badge choices made up. Maybe an AF F4, 105, B-52, Huey!!
That reminds me…I have fond memories from my stepdad about Puff the Magic Dragon…does anyone make a decent kit of one?
That is: stories from my stepdad. Lol
tce, I cannot include the badge. It does not come out in my posts. I keep it in my photobucket file. Any suggestion?
are you adding it by pasting the IMG code or adding the drct link on the add picture icon?
I can make a few different ones but these are just for signing up, I will make a better one when it’s over [H]
what?
On a subject like that, the question is…“does anyone make a kit of one?”
Both of the mainstream DC-3/ C-47 kits we’ve lived with forever, 1/48 Monogram and 1/72 Italeri, had a Spooky boxing. I happen to model 1/72 and I also prefer the looks of the smaller Skytrain…but… that Monogram kit in any form is a really great build. I’d go for that, and it’s a big old piece of airplane.
Don’t buy it on eBay for $ 90. You can find it at an online hobby store for less than $ 40 and it’s one of the great deals out there, esp. in avoir dupois plasticwise.
So S-Dad was in Vietnam? Possibly flew, or maintained, or better yet saw those in action?
Speaking of which, pick up the Squadron In Action book on that. it’s a good one.
Douglas A-3 Sywarrior in the Navy, B-66 Destroyer in the USAF. Along with the A-5 Vigilante, nuclear strike role medium bombers that saw extensive service in Vietnam as reconnaissance and ECM birds. Throw in the B-57 and there’s a group of really nice subjects that are very well represented in the model world.
The Douglas A-3 Skywarrior saw service in Vietnam as Heavy Attack
Tanker/Electronic Warfare
and Photo Recon
it was a cousin of the Air Force B-66 Destroyer.
Sure then any aircraft of the era! ANY!!!
I’m pasting the IMG code. It gets pasted but when it is posted it 's not there.
It is not where it’s supposed to be.
I will try it again this time
