very small Leopard

I am doing Dragon’s 1/144 Leopard 2 A6 and want to put camoflage netting on it. What is good to use for something that small?

Uhh…maybe imagination? LOL!

Seriously, in that scale I doubt you would even be able to see the actual netting at all?

ok thanks Doog, I check my parts box again and see if something comes to mind

Myabe some screen from a screen door??

I don’t know if it’s fine enough for your needs, but you could try “tulle” from a fabric/crafts shop. Perhaps too fine, but I’ve found some perfectly sqare-weave mesh ribbon comes in handy sometimes too.

Tulle above, ribbon below.

Those are 1cm squares on the cutting mat.

I would say use a very very small metal mesh. at 1/144 it would be visible, but it would be the same as if seen from the air, you would see the camo painting, not see THROUGH it like you can on larget kits. So it would more or less make the model invisi9ble.

thanks for the great tips…I’ll let you know how it turns out

For a mesh so small and fine, I suggest having a look at some ladies’ nylons. Women tend to go thru those things very quickly so if you have a lady, you probably have access to a plentiful supply.

here is my little Leopard (minus the camo). Sorry the pics are fuzzy but hope you get an idea of it.

so far ever attempt I have tried for camo netting has been not very succesful…Doog seems to be right again  no matter what I tried the netting just overshadows everything, but still looking for something

If you like that scale have a look at the Challenger 2 / AS90 twin pack Dragon do, the AS90 is the best detailed with really nice 144 scale tracks rather than a single molding with the wheels

Before any details were painted
