Very Basic Diorama Help?

Hi - I purchased a clear display case 12" by 12" with a black base to display my 1/48th scale P-51D I just completed. I wanted to put a light sandy finish over the base to display the model on. I purchased a bag of tan (I’ll call it grass") with a consistency of a very fine sand. What is the best way to apply the sand/grass to the display bottom. Should I put it on a similar size cardboard cut-out, but I don’t know what to use as an adhesive.
Many thanks to all for your kind assistance.

Hello paccardi well as far as i know ive done gaming tables for a game called Warrhammer 40,000 and we make terrain peices. Well you can get some spray adhesive you can get at a craft store… spray it on dump some sand on it over a tub becouse what ever comes off you can use again … once it has dryed you can paint the sand a darker brown let that dry and then drybrush it a lighter to give it some depth … the get some white glue when its still wet put a (pinch) of static grass and gently blow on it and it will stand up on end …you can paint it when it dries too… like a light tan to look like dead grass … well i hope i didnt confuse you …lol i was just trying to help…and any question just let me know

anybody agree or disagree???

For my groundwork I use thinned white glue. I brush it on generously and sprinkle whatever I’m using onto it, let it dry and tap & blow off the excess.

That’s a simplified explanation, but it gives you the basic idea.
