Vallejo paint colors for US WWII Figures?

So I took a dive and bought the old, old Tamiya WWII US infantry figures. Not the good US assault infantry, but the old four-piece ones that are more the like Bucket of Army Men type. It was only a few bucks, and I thought I’d hone some figure painting skills on them (which are woeful at best [and non-existent for painting the faces])

I’ve heard Vallejo is the go-to source for figure painting with acrylics. What paints should I get, though? I’m not too familiar with what they have as I usually just use Tamiya and Polly Scale paints, and when I took a glance I saw so many colors it made my head spin.

I guess it’s mostly for the colors of US Army trousers, M1941 field jackets, and straps/ammo pouches.

For the jackets, I’d go with Khaki (988) , USA Uniform (922) for the trousers and olive green (067) for the web gear. Helmets might be US Dark Green (893) US Olive Drab (889). These are base colors. Another good Vallejo color for US helmets is Brown Violet. Despite the name, it comes out the perfect shade.
