I am interested in comments on this range paints as they have just become available here in South Australia.
I have heard that they are good quality acrylic paint from a modelling friend who has used them (he had obtained them by mail order from England).
My main use for these colors would be hand brushing of fiqures and uniforms.
Hi South Aussie
hailing from British columbia canada . Vallejo paint colours are great and cover well plus you can thin the paints for airbrushing without worrying about loss of pigment
But they are a bit pricey
I use them extensively for painting smaller figures (25-54mm) and for small details in AC cockpits, wheel bays, etc. They are very opaque, especially the whites & yellows, and cover better than most acrylics I have used. They are water soluble so thinning & clean up is cheap & easy. They level out well when dry so brush stroke marks are minimized. I have not tried to airbrush with them so can’t comment on that.
stick w/ tamiyas. they never fail
They are awesome for handbrushing especially for figures and uniforms. Try that with Tamiya!
One thing really nice is the packaging with is tailored to the figure painting. Very convenient for mixing colors.
hungfarlow, 1337, rjkplasticmod, bearubc, thanks for your replies.
I had given up getting any replies on this matter as it was posted in september last, then suddenly four replies, goes to show you just how good this forum is.
Since I raised this post I have been experimenting with them and have been very happy with the results, been using them mainly for fiqure work and applying them by brush, intend to try airbrushing a a latter date.
