What is the best material, clay, sculpt a mold, etc. to use as a mold for vacuum forming? Also, I am having difficulty in finding a suitable clear plastic to vacuum form with. I tried evergreen.10" but the thing will not heat up correctly. I have an original Matel vacuum form machine. The plastic squares that came with the machine are .11".

I have used magic sculpey to form a master and it works fine. As far as the type of plastic to use evergreen should work if not find a supplier with Squadron Clear it works great. I have in the past covered the plastic holder with the “to be formed” plastic in my Vac U Form over the heating coil and all with household aluminium foil and it holds the heat in long enough to heat the plastic evenly. This was a tip in one of the Sheperd Paine books. Try it and see. Hope this helps “clear” up your troubles [:)]
