Since the FS system did not come into use until after WW2, and this was a pre-war/early war color, there’s no accurate equivalent.
We have the color accurately matched and available in our Colourcoats enamels, item ACUS 06. We have no minimum order on paints, and we ship worldwide.

Testor has Navy Blue Gray (stock number 2055) in the Model Master line, and No. 4847 in Acryl. Polly Scale also has it as No. 505088. I don’t see anything on the Humbrol chart that would be close.
The ModelMaster Blue Grey is a tad too light & too blue. I tone it down by mixing it with about 10% Nuetral Grey.

It’s on the Humbrol chart, unless recently removed, but it may be under a different name. I’ve used it and it’s a good match. I need to check it because I have a tin of it in in one of my boxes of paint.
Does anyone remember when Humbrol used to market their paint in sets, like “US Navy Aircraft, WW II” with the colors you’d need for that subject, or “RAF, Desert, 1941.” I recall the blue-gray being in that old US Navy set. I wish they still had those sets, which discounted the paint by about 20%.

I have a formula for blue-gray that uses black, white, insignia red and royal blue. Finding the royal blue these days is a royal pain. The Monogram Navy colors book has three different color chips for blue-gray in the 1940-1950 section.
I found the Slate Blue color in acrylics used for military minitures figures matches it extremely well.

I have tried just about all of them, even the mix that was mentioned earlier. A couple of years ago, the son of a Navy pilot told me that he had the instrument access panels from his Dad’s F4F-4. He stated that after rubbing a spot on one to remove the oxidation, the color was a dead on match to the PollyScale color that is availaible. Since then, I have not used any other color for my Blue-Grey. FYI, the mix formula I had also produced a color very similiar to the PollyScale one, go figure.
