USMC M4A2 3rd Tank Battalion Iwo Jima

Yes I have been building.

This is DML’s M4A2 “Tarawa” kit. The Third Tank Battalion used these on Iwo Jima. The 4th and 5th Battalions used the M4A3. All varied by battalion, company and even platoon.

I have built “Demagog”, a D Co., 3rd Bat. tank. Wading stacks are by the Tank Workshop and replicate the SeeBees improvised design using 55gal drums. Markins are a combination of kit decals, Bison decals, and rub on letters, and goodness knows what else.

These tanks had a rebar rail, and rebar water can holders, welded to the rear deck. I replicated that with .020 styrene rod. Applique armor was boiler plate welded on, then painted with whatever was lying around.

Tell me watcha think.

I’ve seen the drums on a sherman before but this is the first time that I’ve seen those drums on a sherman model.

Despite the track issue, very good stuff here, you’ve displayed a lot of creativity.

I really like your other one better though.
