I was curious if any one has used a dremel with polishing compound to buff a kit to a shine? I was curious if the compound would eat the clear coat/paint? Also what about after haveing sanding the seam down, even you use 2000 git paper, the plastic is still dull. If this works it might be good for clear parts.
Visit my website…link is below signature block…there I show how to use a Dremel tool to apply and buff my polishing powders. If you use a wax or other polishing substance it will eat at the finishing coat and possibly destroy your paint job. You need to experiment with the polishing medium you are planning to use on a test mule before committing to your intended project.
i have used a dremel on testors “metalizer”. the buff “wheel” i used looks like some fine rags stacked together. it worked well, but left a ton of fabric dust all over. it also worked well for preping before painting, and does an excellent job on canopies. get your feather duster ready!!
