USCG HC-130J

Hi All…

Anyone come across a walk-around of the new(ish) Coast Guard HC-130J Hercules? I really need to know what the nose-mounted FLIR turret looks like extended (or retracted), and what the belly-mounted surface search radar looks like. While I’m wishing, a good photo showing where the new mission specialist’s seat is located on the flight deck would be peachy as well…

I’ve been all over Google, can’t seem to find anything but long-distance shots!

Thanks!

Mark

I found this on the Coast Guard website. You may also try the Lockheed site. In many circumstances I have found photos of specific components at the manufacturers websites who made the item…in this case, one would have to look for the sub who provided the FLIR.

Figured I’d give this one bump to see if anyone has anything new…

Found these on airliners.net Good shots of the FLIR.

Thanks Gerald!

(By the way, if no one hasn’t mentioned it lately, Talon Acrylics are awesome. Thanks!)

Given the J is new to the CG fleet, photographs may not be widely available through official channels to the public. Now if a Coastie that has access to the aircraft could do a walkaround for his fellow modelers…that would be cool.

Thanks for the kind word on the Talon!

The 2nd and last photos are of aircraft just down the street from me.If you would like I could probably get some pics of them. the Clearwater Airstation is literaly 1 mile from where I live.

I know this post has been dormant for a while, but in case anyone who posted is interested, I found this great shot online:

Doesn’t get much better than that!

Thanks all!

Ooooh! Lookie at those scimitar shaped propellor blades. NEAT-O!

Soon the squadron next to old McClelland AFB will have some of those I’m hoping…
