Hello !
I’m planing to build a diorama with ground support equipement for a modern aircraft. does someone know where I oculd find reference for the two following equipments :
-ground power generator ( A/M 32-60A ) known as a “dash sixty”.
-air conditioner ( A/M 32-C10D ) “C-10”
they are used on A7, A-10, F-15 aircraft. I’ve done many searches on the net, but I couldn’t find close photos.

Hi Thomas,
Hasegawa makes a few kits related exactly to ground equipment. I’m working on an F-117A kit right now and will be using an A/M 32A-60A Generator in a display with the aircraft when all is done. Ironically, the power generator will be used pretty much as just that! I’m lighting the kit and this part of the display will supplu power to the plane to illuminate it’s lights and fiber optics etc.

The kit itself (Hasegawa) seems to be pretty spot on in terms of accuracy. We have one of those generators up at our local air force museum too and if I’m up that way again in future, maybe I could shoot a few photos of it. What details exactly are you looking for? Also, what scale are you working in? I think the Hasegawa sets come in both 1:48 and 1:72.

Thank you very much for the link. The power generator was the most difficult machine to find reference photos for.
Congratulations for your F117, it’s impressive.
My diorama will be in 1/32 scale, with the big F15E from Tamiya.
I intend to scratchbuild the A/M 32A-60A , that’s why I try to collect a lot of reference.
I need a photo of each side of the machine, I already have the dimensions. I went to http://www.atstucson.com/index.html
I’ve found some photos of the air conditioner ( A/M 32-C10D ) in a book.

As it turns out, I’m going to be heading up to Ogden tomorrow for an appointment and will be going right past the A F Museum. If you still need me to I can stop in and take some shots of the generator from different angles. I’ll need to know by tomorrow morning though and if so, I’ll need to know if there are any special requests for photos. My camera isn’t the greatest, but it should do for this project I would think. I’m not aware of any air conditioners at the museum, but I’ll ask.

for the air conditionner, I’ve found enough photos, I’ve started drawing the chassis and the air conditionner itself. When the drawings will be completed, I’ll post them on finescale.

In case anyone else is interested, here are the photo’s I got today of the “dash 60” generator from my local museum. The power was out so I wasn’t able to get many great shots but I may try again in the next little while. Also, I wasn’t able to get any from the opposite side of the generator as it was roped off. Dash 60’s were great for lighting cigarettes when you didn’t have a light. When the thing started it would always blow a flame about a foot out the exhaust.
If its hooked up to the jet, make sure the cover is off the exhaust and the control panel is visable.
I went to start one of those once and fuel sprayed everywhere, so I shut it down and called the AGE guys. They came and started it, when that thing lit off, it blew a fire ball 30 ft straight up! Needless to say, I got another cart.
