US uniform insignia decals

Can anyone help me find a set of 1/35 U.S. uniform insignia decals? I thought sure Sprue Brothers would have them, unless I missed them. Searched thru other sites but no luck. The only thing I found was 1/16 scale. All kinds of German uniform insignia sets. Just not that good at painting that small.

Thanks

Alliance Modelworks makes them. I believe I got mine at Freetime Hobbies.

Yep, deffinatly recomend archer, and i prefer to buy direct even across the pond.

Thanks everyone. Just what I was looking for.

Thank you for asking the question Recon,

I need some division patches and rank insignias as well. The Archer sets look perfect, and easy.

I love Archer Dry Transfers; for vehicles. Although they are accurate and look great when applied, they can be a bitch to put on a 1:35 figure. You can also try Verlinden for 1:35 decals for figures. They do have them for German and American troops. I hope this also helps.

I agree about the Archer insignia, I haven’t used the Verlinden ones so I can’t vouch for their quality. Archer does include a small strip of decal paper, if you don’t want to use the transfers, you can rub them off onto the decal paper and then apply them to the model that way. Transfers are great but they have to be perfect when you apply them since you can’t move them like a decal.

At 1/35 i am thinking just go with the hand painting. Well thats me, i think at that size, unless your on a competition/ show, the genreal eye is not going to spot it out. I am trying that now, now i plan on practiceing, the rub on ones that will take a lot pf practice lol

You would be surprised. I tried for years at painting my own. Those decals are a real treat.

Lots of great information. Thanks again. I have not used any of these transfers yet. Is it a peel and stick thing? A little shaky to be painting 1/35 scale stripes. I could make them all buck privates. Be nice if they would include decals in the figure boxes like they do in the model boxes.

They are rub off decals. But as mantined, you get a piece of decal backing paperso you can rub them off on that and use them as a normal decal. But i prefer to take them off the carrier with the tip of my exacto and then place them. I then use a rubber at the end of a pencil to press them in place and that seems to work fine. I found it tricky to get them into place with the carrier, even when trimeed, and then rub them off.

Thanks for the tip Bish.

Thanks from here too Bish, I’d not thought of that.

Recon, if you’re anywhere near my age you might remember Presto something or the other stickers from the late '70s -early '80s. You’d press it down on a sheet of paper and then rub the top with a pen or simular hard pointy object and it causes the transfer to come off and stick to the paper. Same thing here. But as Bish said it’s hard to get it where you want it on a curved surface like a figure’s arm.

I like his idea on picking it off the paper though as he said they give you a small sheet of decal paper. You rub it off on that and apply like a decal.

No problem guys. Doing German figures involves a lot of collar insignia. No matter how close i trimmed the carrier, because its quite stiff, i could never get the decal in the right place.

Ordering directly from Archer is pretty quick. I ordered late Sunday night/Monday morning. They shipped on Monday, and they were in my mailbox on Wednesday. California to Ohio in three days is pretty good.
