MMMMMMmmm… thats a contractor or an CIA/SOF type operator… definitely not a US Infantryman… Nice work though.
I like the vest and blue jeans. That very finnn and nice job.
Very well done, but I agree with SP. I saw a lot of civilian contractors that looked like that when I was in Iraq in 2003.
the detail looks amazing on such a small scale
Cummon Stik- it’s the new camo to blend in with the locals
Yes indeed… but it removes a soldier’s protections under the laws of war. Not that the other side obeyed those rules very scrupulously even when it was force on force. That’s one reason tht the SF guys who were first in Afghanistan wore some piece of US uniform, DCU pants, even when they donned tribal dress to work with the locals. To give that “legality” aspect under the laws of war. Contractors are outside that framework and are very much a gray area in those conflicts- not soldiers serving a country, and not non combatant civilians either. Outside the wire it is very much a case of no quarter asked or given for them.
I love how we try to legitimize and rename them in this world of PC BS. They are nothing more than good ol’ mercenaries, soldiers of fortune. Let’s call a spade a spade.
True, yet many are doing jobs in past wars that were done by the US military, eliminated for budgetary reasons, and are now replaced and hired by the US government to do those same jobs, at better pay than most soldiers get. Sort of along the lines of differentiation between a Privateer with a Letter of Marque as opposed to a true Pirate. If we hire the guys, they are contractors, if the other side uses the same sort of thing, they are mercenaries [;)]
Very well said

It’s 1/16, 120 mm in figure talk. This is not considered a small scale at all and is the largest of the common full figure sizes, though there are a few 200 mm figures out there.
I have a couple of 12-13 inch ones (not sure the scale). I didn’t realise 1/16 was 12cm tall, I don’t usually consider buying them because I thought they’d be tiny. I’m still really new to this and buy online but I definitely won’t skip past the 1/16 stuff any more. Still, your paint job looks great whatever the size!
I like it, very nicely done figure.
Thanks for all kind comments, compliments and suggestions. I really appreciate them. As for this figure I don’t remember its original name but I remember that in the original image the soldier was wearing Khaki suit. It was “PJ” who opted to paint it this way and I think it’s OK. The name should have been “US Soldier of Fortune, Iraq 2003”
Nice paint job. Since this isn’t a political site… THAT IS ALL I’LL SAY. Bob
Thanks for your kind words, Bob!
