My most disliked feature of Tamiya armor kits.
Agreed Grey… It can be cut but there is no way around the fraying outside of appling a tad but of CA.
But yes, this is the downside to their kits.
I could not agree with you more Joe! There are a few areas where they could improve on like the thread for the cable(s) and the tie downs.
Thank you so much!
I am moving right with the Stuart. Tank is essential done, just need to go over a few things then its off to paint the figure.
Oh yeah, trying to figure out what type of base to do…
The joys of modeling hahs
I like those markings you picked out, @Butz! I’ll probably build this tank sometime, but probably in 1/35.
Thank you @S.Hollowell ! These are actually the kit decals that I used.
Even though to me, Tamiya’s decals are good once in place, however they are notated to be on the thicker side.
With that being said, these decals appear thinner and once in place, dont look as thick.
Hopefully they changed the formula? I believe that AFV Clubs M5A1 offering has these decals?
Thank you again for the kind words!
It looks like the AFV Club one does also have the decals.
Looks great, can’t wait to start on mine now. Just got it innyhe mail a week ago
Thank you thank you! You’ll definitely like the kit as its a straight forward build minus the few extra things that I added.
Your Stuart turned out great!
That figure looks fantastic! Can’t wait to see it when it’s done.
Nice work, the weathering is perfect, not over done, not under done. I like it.
Thank you so much Edwin! As for the figure, its 3D printed and I have a few more in the stash.
These figures are really detailed and the detail is crisp!
The one particular fig that I have, you can see hus wedding band perfectly. Crazy
Thank you @Demolition! The weathering aspect had me on the fence ya know?
Did some research especially on this group and their tanks were well used but the weathering was not extreme but more on the moderate side.
So i went done the middle, not over yet not to clean looking!
Then again, what was the life expectancy of one of these machines?
Just can’t get over how small this build is. Excellent work on this tiny model and the alligator clips & pencils give a great scale reference. Looking very much forward to seeing this in a diorama setting Mike.
Weathering is difficult for sure and it’s so easy to over do it. I never realize until it’s too late that I should have stopped about 4 hours earlier than I did.
Totally agree! I try to go down the middle, not too over down but not too little either!
Thank you so much Joe! Yes, in this scale, the Stuart is definitely on the smaller side.
As for a dio, I am not sure what I want to do but for now, i need to finjsh it up and get the figure painted.
I found that less weather on the 1/48th scale vehicles is better.
