If anyone has attended one of these, or is a member, can you give me a rundown on how well attended they are? Being in Dallas and Houston areas, I expect them to be well run and crowded.
We at IPMS-NCT have been putting on our ScaleFest show for over two decades and we think we have things right. We’ve grown, we’ve shrunk, we’ve had good venues and some bad ones. We’re back in Mesquite at the Rodeo Center where we’ve been for the last two or three years.
We have over vendor 50 tables sold, including Draw Decals, Squadron Mail Order, Rare Plane Detective, Lone Star Models, Hill Country Hobbies and more. We usually have three to five hundred model entries on the tables.
Be sure to schedule your trip to include open shopping at Squadron’s warehouse. The line generally starts early on Friday morning to be the first to get in for their scratch & dent sales. They also usually have overstocks at a good discount and some new releases available. Note that on Saturday they will only be open to noon - so get your plastic fix in early.
Thanks very much for your reply. Sounds like a great event, and I’ll be attending all things cooperating. [:)] I’m in Longview, so it’s not a very long drive.
Tomorrow is ScaleFest 2013 and I will be there… a bit late. I have to work in the morning, and it’s a 2 hour drive, but I should be there just after lunch. At least I may stay around for the awards this time. [:D]
