Wow, I’d heard of some of these but never seen photos. Thanks for the link! The version with the pods on the wings- I’m assuming for observers - that’s scary to think someone was supposed to ride in there!!!
My favorite version was the Star Trek: Enterprise one where they end up going back in time to an alternate timeline where aliens are working with the Third Reich to take over the world and the ship ends up attacked by a bunch of Ju-87 tankbusters with the cannons replaced by laser guns. Now that was a true WTH!?! moment there!
O no, it was scarier than that. They were designed to each carry to agents and the pod was fitted with a parachute so it could be jettisoned behind enemy lines. There were problems in trials and the project was abandoned.
