Hi everyone! I’m Alberto and I’m running a university research project about how people start, experience, and grow in model making (challenges, learning needs, community, etc.).
I’d be grateful if you could complete this short anonymous survey (6–8 minutes):
All modeling types welcome
At the end, you can optionally leave your email for a short online interview (15–20 min). Data will be used for academic research only.
Welcome to the forums Apolli42. I hope your visit is more than academic. Modeling is very rewarding in many different ways. From keeping oneself busy, to commemorating things you’ve experienced and all points in-between. Buy a kit and join us!
Unfortunately considering the multitude of various scams, phishing, and basic deviousness that permeates our lives these days, you might have a difficult time getting someone to click on a random link or download anything.
I understand there are legitimate surveys and such, but posting this, especially as your first post does create some concern. In the interest of online safety I won’t be participating, if this is a genuine study, I apologize and hope you do manage to get the results and data you need. It’s too bad that the reality we face today causes these negative perceptions.
You seem like you may have a bit of history or interest in modelling, I hope that perhaps you can get more involved with our community. Perhaps you can build up the trust needed to get the data you need either by an online survey, just asking questions in the forum, or any other means.
Yeah, I took that survey too (Google Forms, by the way) and then I reported for the review - had a very nice conversation. Alberto is not a modeller, but has fond memories of his grandpa who was a RC Aircraft modeller. Alberto studies “User experience design” and his work aims at improving modellers “user experience” - I look forward to seeing what he makes with the data we got him.
