I have the UH-60L from MRC Academy in 1/35, does anyone know if they wore any other paint scheme other then the sand or the od scheme depected in the instructions? I am looking for something more ellaborate, I need some practice with camoflage and would like to do a multiple color paint scheme in large format.
Although I am not building this at the moment I always like to plan ahead.
All US Army helos are helo drab (dark green). The sand version in the instructions is not correct either. You could go for a civilian version or one in law enforcement or firefighter service for more colors.
Personally I think either a VIP Hawk-VH-60N (HMX-1 presidential bird) or a US Customs bird would look really nice. The Royal Jordanian S-70’s have a nice paint scheme as well.
The Israelis recently converted to a three tone desert camouflage instead of the US Army Helo Drab. Guess they didn’t like their dark green helocopters standing out against the desert sand during daylight ops.
Blackhawk is attractive in any camo scheme. My country’s Royal Malaysian Air Force operates 2 Blackhawks for vip transport duties. It wears overall white with blue stripes and small national flag on the tail. I’ll post a picture when I have one.
I’m currently in the process of converting 1/18 Blackhawk to an accurate model. It is a die-cast model with basic interior. The model (as mentioned by the manufacturer, Blue Box Toy) is prepainted and is intended to be used with 1/18 scale action figures. The helo is broken into 2 major parts to fit the box (Should see the size when fully assembled). It also comes with poseable pilot figure and ESS. The model or toy to some can be converted to a nice model but require a lot of work since some of the parts are a bit oversized. My question is where can I get complete info on SH-60B? Help appreciated.
