I wonder what happened?
At the moment the Air Force is investigating as to what caused the crash as the article mentioned.
From what I have heard, they are not going to release any other info regarding this until they know fur sure…

My thoughts and prayers are with the pilot’s family. The 9SRW is my old unit from 30 years ago. Many memories of multiple, long TDY’s to backwater H _ _ _ Holes in the middle of nowhere. I cannot even imagine the current situation with fewer aircraft, fewer pilots, but more overseas committments. I have the utmost respect and admiration for the pilots & maintainers and their families that can maintain this life and still keep a family together.

I just read the press release…its a shame.
I read that he craahed upon landing back at base. While it is probably of little condolance to friends and family, at least he was not taken by someone who would do him harm.
My heartfelt thoughts and prayers will be with him, a symbol of all the men and women protecting our freedoms around the world, including our beloved allies.
