This is the old Monogram kit in 1/48. I did mess up though, the zirkus Rosarius bird was a 1a with the door instead of the sliding canopy. This build was my first air-brush paint job and boy am I happy. I’m hooked. Just one more Zirkus plane to finish, a Spitfire Mk IX. Here’s a little info on Zircus Rosarius.
Mmmmm, Typhoon goodness! [dinner] Love that paint scheme, I had to look up the Zirkus Rosarius. Great to learn something new, and to see a good ol’ Monogram kit done so well.
Thanks guys, I’m enjoying the subject. Spitfire is giving me heck though. Great pic Guy, thanks. The color chart that came with the decals showed a yellow underneath and I read it on some link I found when I started. Image added below from Cutting Edge. Now I’m compelled to order the correct canopy and find a 3 bladed prop to correct my plane. Looks like I will need to smooth the area arond the exhaust also. I should have ordered the Hasegawa kit instead but you know about hind sight.
It was and is, by no way a critisism of your work. She looks gorgeous. Id keep her as is and if you feel the urge do another then modify that one. It looks to me like they have used either the RLM 65 on the underside or the Raf light blue. Also you can just make out the fusalage codes that have been oversprayed… mmmm. i feel another project coming on LOL. If you look at the website http://www.luftarchiv/ theres loads of captured allied stuff
Oh, no problem at all, I wouldn’t have minded even if it was. I happen to have another Typhoon but it has the bubble canopy also. I’ll check out that site to see if I can find another Typhoon with the Zirkus.
