type xxiii coning tower

so i bought the trumpeter type xxiii submarine, but it has 3 diffrent coning towers, and i cant seam to find any info on the diffrence or use of the diffrent ones, like wise i cant turn up and photos of the tower without the wind break around the edge, could anyone shed some light or give some referance for this?
