I have a picture of a P-51B flown by one of the Tuskegee airmen, nicknamed “Stinky”. Does anyone know who the pilot of this plane was ?? I believe he was in the 100th sqdrn because of the red on the cowl, even though it does not have the black trim tabs. Any help would be appreciated.
I’m in the process of building a set of T/A a/c. The only 100th a/c I’ve got listed are:
Lt. R. Brown: “Bunnie”
Capt. Lester: “Miss-Pelt”
Lt Curtiss: “Quato Costa”
Lt Williams: “Duchess Arlene”

Also, Lt. Lee Archer flew “Ina The Macon Belle”. As far as kits, the only ones in production that I know of are Testor’s P-47, and AmTech’s P-40. Decals are made by Micro scale and Aeromaster, but they are currently out of production. Sometimes they show up on E-Bay, but they don’t go cheap ! The markings on the planes are really very simple to produce. For the P-51’s, the entire tail assembly, wing tips and propellor spinners were red. The serial number on the tail was painted over. The band behind the propellor at the front edge of the cowl varied from squadron to squadron. Trim tabs were also different for each squadron. Aside from the national markings, the only other decal needed would be the large 2 digit number on the side of the fuselage. If you need more info, lemme know !!
Tally-Ho (48-016) P-51 Mustang Aces has “Miss-Pelt” and three others, not T/A’s.

I hope this helps. I have a photo of “Stinky” also. It’s in a book I have called “Black Wings” Published by the Nat’l air & space Mus. I do know that Stinky was a 302nd Squadron A/C. I think it was Lt. Walter Palmer’s P 51. The 302 had Red spinner and yellow nose band and of course Red Tail and wing tips… Check the Web…
Aero Master 72-175 has a nice selection of " Lonely Eagles" a/c.
Two other planes: ‘Skipper’s Darlin.’ flown by Capt. Andrew ‘Jug’ Turner, and another plane called ‘Lollipoop,’ of which I am still collecting data. Both of these are 100 FS, 332 GF Mustangs. No decals are yety available, but I am working to correct that even as we speak.
