Paul Boyer did a kit review in the current issue, and I just wanted to add a comment. I got the Mono Chrome release thru HLJ, so I don’t know if this applies to the Trumpeter release, but … SINK HOLES! Holy crap, everywhere there’s a ridge or boss on the inside, there’s a sink hole on the outside! Needs a LOT of putty and clean up.
Maybe I just got one that was pulled out of the mold too soon or something.
And, before Paul gets credit for the idea, I already built mine in SE Asia camo :).
Hi John… I just pulled my Trumpeter kit out to have a look. I see only two very small sink holes. One on each of the upper wing halves right above an alignment pin. Otherwise, mine looks good. Perhaps your theory about getting a bad one is correct. Can you post a photo of your '107? I’d like to see it in that camo!
I’d love to post a photo but … did you ever have one of those models that you just had so many problems with (not necessarily the fault of the kit) that you smashed it into a million pices and stomped on it and threw it away? I was having a real bad week when I tried to build that thing.
I used the F-100 camo pattern on it, btw.
As for the sink holes, they were all over it, especially deep on the fuselage. I’ll have to pick up another one and try again.
