Popped into Super Kid’s Land (gotta love that name) in Osaka this afternoon, and lo and behold, they were having a Trumpeter special. So what did I get?
The 1/32 F-105D Thunderchief for 3,150 yen! That’s $30 USD! It usually goes for about 9,000 yen ($85 USD) over here, so that’s a pretty good deal.
They also had the 1/24 Spitfire seaplane for the same 3,150 yen price.
Isn’t Great Models or some other shop in the West having a similar Trumpeter bonanza sale?
Good for you Brian. Gotta love finding deals like that. Be sure and check out my F-105D that I’m doing in the ‘After The Battle’ Group Build. Lots of photos (some a bit fuzzy) but also some builders tips on problem areas of the kit.
Chris
Great Models had a one day sale with many of the Trumpeter kits at 50% of their normal price. The Thud was listed at $62.50 USD. You got a terrific deal.
I’m so jealous I’m green from head to toe and it’s scaring my girlfriend, who doesn’t understand my obsession with her competitor. But thirty bucks? I just go my review copies of the new Eduard frets for this kit, and the MSRP for them is more than thirty bucks EACH! But, make no mistake about it, these are some LARGE PE parts. Especially the gear doors, etc. And the colors on the cockpit parts are dead on.
Yet I have no kit and no immediate prospects of getting one. Oh, cruel, ironic fate.
