Trumpeter's 1/350th Scale USS Indianapolis

Greetings fellow modelers! Man, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted on Finescale - quite a few changes to the site. Anyway, here’s my latest build fresh off the bench:

I really enjoyed this build - good fit and nice detail. But I think I need to break away from ships for my next project - you know, refresh the batteries? So pretty soon take a look at the aircraft forum. I’ll be posting Revell’s 1/32 scale Heinkel HE 111 torpedo bomber! Oh boy this is gonna be fun!

Thanks for lookin’ and comments/critiques always welcomed!

Happy modeling!

Mark

Welcome back! Your Indy is really looking good. [Y][Y]

I like it! I am hoping to pick up the Academy kit of this later this year if possible

Where Quint? And you might consider putting the Fatboy on the forecastle?

Hi :

This is a very nice build .You did excellent work .I have this model as well as the San Francisco . I haven’t built either yet . Now I have to .Thank You . Tanker - Builder P.S. what did you use for the plane canopies ?

Very nice.I’d like to add this kit to my stash.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen!

Big Jake - I wanted to add the A-bomb components but I was unable to found out where the box was welded to the deck! I wonder just where Quint’s battle station was?

Tankerbuilder - The SOC spotter plane was molded clear so I masked the canopy, sprayed the green first, and then the dark sea blue. When I removed the masks the green shows thru the clear canopy.
