I just want your opinion please, what brand do you think is better? Trumpeter or Tamiya . I’ve read really good reports on both.
The most accurate answer is: “it depends on the kit”.
Tamiya has been a “crown jewel” of the industry for years, know for good fit, great engineering and ease of build. Trumpeter has come a long way and they have turned out some real gems with their more recent kits.
If you have a particular model in mind, check out some of the on-line reviews for the specific kits.
Tamiya makes the best 1/48 P-47D, but Trumpeter makes the best 1/48 Wyvern…
In other words, it depends on the kit.
Other than the Mig 15, I can’t think of any aircraft kitted by both Companies. Pick the Aircraft you want to build & then worry about who does the best kit of it.

Never had a Trumpeter kit, but LOVE Tamiya

well i go hands down for Tamiya i have never had problems with any of there kits all i bought was tamiya for a long time but then i bought a HASEGAWA A-4F Skyhawk and i have never looked back the last time i bought a tamiya plane was the F-117A but they are coming out with a F-16CJ and i will buy two or three of them
It is hard to compare the two companies. Like comparing apples and oranges one might say. Tamiya strong point is a full line of beautifull 1/48 scale kits that are as close to perfect as anyone probally will get. Trumpeter seems to specialize in the larger scales like there 1/24 line of kits. They go together well but from the kits in my stash they do have some mistakes that many rivet counters have pointed out. Not enough to warrant and bad feedback though. In my book they are both top notch. So in conclusion you can not go wrong with either in my opinion. Remove plastic wrap remove box top and enjoy!
