Well here it is. It is in need of some work. The wheels need to be giving some TLC… a bit of straightening and leveling.
I still have to complete the tracks (half done) and also add on the PE. I haven’t used PE before so it should be an interesting night at the bench for me
Woohoo, I get the first reply!! My 1900th post by the way… Ive been saving it for sumthin’ special… [C):-)]
Looks really nice, Mia. I thought you had made some great progress when I saw it earlier this month and it looks like you’ve just about wrapped it up since then. How did the missiles come out? I seem to recall some sanding frustrations…
here is a suggestion throw out the trumpeter tracks and get a set of ModelKasten tracks for the ZSU-23/4 box number SK(8). The kit supplied tracks look like a exercise in futility I can’t figure out why they don’t add independent track links instead of the link and length tracks that they supply which don’t accurately depict the sag on a stopped tank. If you have Dragons ZSU-23/4 use the tracks off of that instead then just use the ModelKastens on the ZSU-23 the dragon tracks actually are of a better quality and also are independent track links and will work with the SA-6 as both the SA-6 and ZSU-23 share the same chassis.
Boyd, the missiles are done and seem to be okay. I am only planning on using 2 of the 3 anyways… i will pick the two that come out best once painted. You will probably get to see it in the beginning stages of painting if you stop in for a modeling visit in Nov!
Excellent job Mia! It’s coming along very nicely. It looks like it will be a very impressive armour piece when it’s finished with the missles on the rails. Keep up the great work![tup]
