Not quite current, but I’ll have more pics to post in a day or two. Since these pics, I’ve sealed, oil based washed, and added some stowage. I also repainted teh vision blocks on the cupola in that met burgundy and moved teh plow control cable to the box ont he left side of the drivers hatch. Next, I’m going to lightly spray some Tamiya buff on the whole thing to tone it down a little then do the pastel powder thing, and then the final sealing coat. Hope it turns out well…
P.S. Whats a good ratio for the buff??? I’ve never done it before…TIA!
First one I’ve seen built, and have to say, it’s pretty sweet looking job. Wish I could recommend a mixing ratio on your buff overspray, but honestly, just don’t have enough experience to be giving that kind of advice. I would think that you’d want the overspray to be fairly well thinned, and applied from some distance, but let one of the other guys with more background in painting chime in and give you good advice. Thanks for sharing your work with us it’s very good. Semper Fi, Mike
First buildup that I’ve seen. Very good progress. Nice and clean so far. How did the kit go together? I’ve heard some issues, as they apparently recycled some mouldings from their previous M1 kits. The new Dragon offering is supposed to be superb.
Thanks for the comments! The kit went together well, everything fit as it should. It has a few innacuracies, but I’m not a bolt counter. I tried my best to correct a couple of things, like adding some texture to the rear engine desk, and one other thing that I forgot (see how important it is?). I think when its done, I’ll be happy with it sitting on a shelf colecting dust.[:)]
