Trumpeter Kriegslocomotive.

Hello.
A few months ago I remember someone posting a thread about Trumpeter releasing the Kriegslocomotive in 1/35. Well a few months went by now, and after searching though the net for a while, I cant find any information about this release. Was this just a rumor?

no its coming out
Dont know when Dont know where but its coming out some day in the future

This sit still has it a s a future release. http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/newf.htm

as i understand the release is until october…the locomotive is in my list of wishes to complete more my models on rails collection
really i have a lot of modelis in progress and many job in scratch to do… this locomotive will be in progress until next year

Thanks for the imput. I am really looking forward to this release.
Though it might be just a rumor.

I’ve been waiting news on this one as well. Perth’s site has it listed, and someone posted earlier something about prototype shots being on the web, but I’ve been unable to find anything.

That picture was posted here a few months ago – it wasn’t a close-up or anything, just an illustration of the locomotive.

I’d actually rather that they make one of those short locomotives that the Germans used to move their rail guns around. That would be extra cool – imagine the diorama of the K5 and its locomotive!

In any event, it’s certainly an interesting and ambitious project for Trumpeter.

just a little detail…
the BR52 kriegslokomotive was used in convoy trains with supplies and tank transport to the diffrent fronts and wasn´t indicated for towing a k5, to move the k5 was used diesel locomotives
its like to kill an ant with an elephant,
i have the BR52 kriegslocomotive of tank workshop and is a 65 cms long model and the dimensions of the trumpeter must be very similar just with the squared tender.
the diesel locomotives will be released next year in plastic too but is another manufacturer, at this moment i dont have in mind the name but is from europe.

Great Models mentions the release too. It’s down at the bottom of this page…
http://www.greatmodels.com/main/050521.htm

They’re saying 2006, but here is a report from someone who contacted Trumper. They’re saying some time this year…
http://www.network54.com/Forum/message?forumid=47207&messageid=1109969635

So…could this be the picture that was around a few months ago?

Anyway, I found it in this discussion…
http://www.track-link.net/forum/news_industry/6688

It’s probably a photo of the Trumpeter booth at the 2005 Nuremberg show…which this photo clearly shows…

It’s from this page on smallscaleafv’s site…
http://www.smallscaleafv.com/ANG/Akce/TFN_2005.htm

I took the liberty of straightening out the poster from the first pic and cleaned it up as best I could…

So what’s with all those colors?

Anyway, here’s a much clearer drawing of a Güterzuglokomotive Baureihe 52, one with some armor…

You’ll find it and a link to an even larger image here…
http://www.dlok.de/98.htm

The drawing shows the total length of a BR52 to be 22,975mm…around 904.5 inches. That would make the model around 26". WOW!

Looking around (Baureihe 52 and BR52 yielded the most hits), I found this sad picture of a series 52 being scrapped…

It’s from this very interesting page…
http://www.dampflokomotiven-lewandowski.de/html/aw_braunschweig.html

The site is in German, but there’s lots of good information once run through an online translator…
http://www.worldlingo.com/en/websites/url_translator.html

Here’s one in much better condition…

…from this, also German, site…
http://www.rikok.de/galerieModellbahntreffenTambach13.htm

Here’s another spiffy one…

…from here…

I did happen to find a page where the kit is listed as to be released. What’s interesting is the kit number is listed…TP35998. It’s about half way down here…
http://www.kolumbus.fi/martti.kuivalainen/ProdHTML/trumpeter.html

Well, it looks to be quite a kit. Let’s see…if I put a shelf in the livingroom and dining room, with a little hole…a tunnel!..that’s it…in the wall…I should be able to fit it and the Karl together. It might not be historically correct, but it would sure be impressive.

Now repeat after me, when the Mrs asks…that hole was always there. Yup, I swear. Plus it worked out so well for those old, old kits I found in the basement…ya know…the ones I must have bought when I was a kid (well a kid at heart anyway).

1/35th loco? Yikes. That’s gonna be huge!

Yep, definitely will be a big model. This item is really gathering a lot of excitement. Methinks, coupled with their other announced releases for 2005, Trumpeter may be on the road to a very good year. Although it is allready half-over, and we’ve not seen much yet.

its a large model about 65 cms long, the difference against this BR52 from tank workshop is the shape of the tender here is semicircular and the trumpeteer is rectangular but same large

this is the lokomotive unfinished yet but almost finished…

if somebody wants to see a good linedrawings of the german lokomotives must see:

i hope the link works…

Nice work Sir Panzer-it’s nice to see builds of ancilliary vehicles that were very important in the war as well as AFVs.

Dan

Loco Artist, you have done it again, first you bombard us with the Russian SU info on Jeff`s post some time back, and now this. I thank you for the info sir, that poster of the locomotive is the exact one I saw a few months back. All the information is interesting and I sincerely thank you for your imput.

Yes me too. The V36 diesel switcher was very often paired up with the K5’s especially in the man-made bunker farms and the circular fireing platforms. The V36 was less than a 3rd the size of the big steamers (had 6 wheels as opposed to the 12 on the BR52 - not including the coal tender). The V36 was also a diesel which was unique for the “eisenbahn” (railroad) back then

Here is a pic of the V36
Here is a drawing of the K5 with a V36
Here is my dio with a kitbashed V36 and K5[:D] - tiny 1/160 scale

Hey, I-Beam, that’s the ticket! Not as impressive as the big engine, but a good pair for what is arguably the most impressive 1/35th scale model of a land weapons system made by anyone.

(I have to admit that I have a wee bit of unease at the idea of the big German locomotives, as those big trains played a key role in the Holocaust. I’d never be able to display it in my home, as my better half is Jewish.)

I’ve always had a grand scheme (in the nether-reaches of my brain) to do a 1/35 train diorama…Panzer IVs, AA rail cars, the whole 9 yards…maybe now I’ll just have to start one…

Jeff

Ah yes Larry I understand. The German Railway. They were kinda like a kingdom to themselves until they were used in such terrible ways. I’m just a railfan and a enginehead myself but that’s not an excuse. I’m one of those people who slow down at crossings hoping that a train is on the way [:D][:o)]

Thats pretty exciting stuff , I know I cannot wait for this one , Should make for a pretty impressive display to say the least !
