I recently finished the Trumpeter K1A1. No real problems. Had to close up all the storage boxes around the turret with plastic card. Trumpeter molded them with no bottom (??). Otherwise a good kit.
Here it is.

She looks great Gino!!! And thats all trumpeter besides the stoage? I noticed I only have the tiger decal with my kit the K1 88 has the flags. Thanks for the pics.
You got it, all Trumpeter for the basic tank, a few scratch or modified pieces to make them look better, but nothing aftermarket.
Actually, the flags were left overs from the Academy K200 IFV kits. I have built three of them in different configurations ( I wasable to get the Academy kits for less than $10 each when I was stationed in Koea) . One as an Italian version, one as a K200, and as a K200 Vulcan (Korean version of M163). Gotta love M113 series and its varients. You can see the K200 and the Vulcan in my Showcase below.
nice camo job!
Good looking build Gino. Excellent camo job. Semper fi, mike
Nice work Gino! Got to love that camo scheme, definitely not something you see very often. [tup]
Good job , I definitely like the paint job, is that hand painted?
That is a unique camo scheme. I really like it.
Yes and no. The dark green and dark tan areas are airbrushed. The sand and black stripes are by hand. The scheme is pretty unique. It is pretty close to the 1970’s US MERDC scheme, but not quite. Here are my K200’s done in the same ROK Army scheme.
And the whole ROK Checkpoint Dio they are on (based off an actual Checkpoint in Korea)
It was hard to get both K200’s with the same scheme, but they are really, really close.
I have a ROK M48-A5 in the same scheme too, no pics of it at this time though.
Both lok great, Gino…! The LiA1 is a great looking MBT I think.
Great looking builds Gino. Now I want to build my K1A1 I just got in. Decisions, decisions. Bryan
Wow, excellent job on the camo. I opted for an overall dark green, but looking at those pics, makes me wish I’d tried to replicate the scheme.
Looks really great! Love that paint job
I missed this thread in September, Gino. Supernice work on the ROK stuff!
Excellent rendition of that nifty camo.
