[:p]Has anyone built the new Trumpeter H 38 artillerie observation vehicle based on the Hotchkiss chassis? I just bought it today for 20.00 and I am going to try to have it done by sunday so I can take it to Valley Con 2005 in Pasadena. Looks like a nice kit really interesting and unusual.
Havent had a chance to get it yet. It looks like a very interesting kit too, I havent seen that before. let us know the details when your done.
Well I’ve gotten the interior done along with attaching the fenders to the lower hull, its going together nicely and it is a very nice kit so far. I’ll try to post some pic’s of my progress later.
id be interested in trumpeter’s build of the tank version with heavy rockets on the sides. havent found one near me though. much of the kits should be the same though, so please tell us more about it, id be very interested.

This would be a very nice piece for a diorama.
A minor correction: The H38 isn’t based on a Renault vehicle. It’s the Hotchkiss H38.
OOPS! I got Renault on the brain thanks ericadeane. Yes the partial interior comes with the kit Z. This kit is for a OOB competition so it is staying stock. So far it has been a very nice build, the only problems so far are 1: the tracks are way to long I had to cut 3 lengths off so far. I havnt tested the track fit yet as the attachment points for the drive and idler and return rollers are delicate and I dont want to pull them off. 2: The Hochkiss top front hull and the German modifaction (welded box hull) have a slight gap. This was a easy fix I just trimmed the mounting tabs on the box hull so I could slide it closer to the cast hull so that I would have a smaller gap (which is actually almost nonexistent now) to fill. You cant even notice it at the back of the hull once its on. All in all this is a nice kit and an easy build and on top of that I only paid 20 bucks for it. Oh and it also comes with 2 figure’s, just thought that Dragon and Academy would like to KNOW THAT!

Just found another minor problem the exhaust on page 7 step 14 it shows the muffler and how to put it on which looks backwards or upside down if you like and then at step 15 it shows it mounted correctly (at it looks more correct to me this way). Seeing as I cant find any photo’s of this vehicle to go by I’m going to mount it the way it show’s in step 15.
