Vulcrum, neither myself or the good brother treadwell have received replies, but I think at this juncture we need confirmation if our contribution would be acceptable or not. Comet (Glyn) is thinking of joining us in the interiors GB after the big Christmas to continue on the work with the T34, The big “T”. we would expect some mail as to wether or not we are acceptable or not within the GB. I accept we have a year or two head start but do remember that we have now spent so much time scratchbuilding thousands of pieces to this date.
Personally I think either the good Brother or Myself would have some guidanceor tips on the pro’s and con’s, for anybody interested in this endeavour.
Hey, the warthog would be great! Also, the big “t”, what treadwell is building, and what you are building are definantly welcomed. I mean, isn’t the 1/16 T34 the highlight of Trumpeter? I’m sorry I didn’t give you replies sooner. I know you guys already started the build, but it wouldn’t be a “Trumpeter Group Build” without your contribution. I think your T 34s would be an absolutely astonishing contribution to this group build. I would be thrilled if you could join.
If we are going for a Trumpeter GB, then only trumpeter should be allowed (that includes Hobby Boss, and any Hobbycraft kits that are original Trumpeter mouldings). I’m not sure what the point of allowing DML entries would be. Yeah they’re a competitor, but so is every other styrene company…
Also, you should be updating your first post, enter the begining and start dates, and any rules. Also, list what members are participating, and as you find out, add the projects that they’ll be working on.
Okay, so I guess only Trumpeter related models would be allowed. The date, like I said, will be 12/15/2006 to 2/15/2006. So far we have: terry35 - T34 1/16 treadwell - T34 1/16 Comet (Glyn) - T34 1/16 Plastic_Cross - Trumpeter LAV-25 Gun Tech - Sturer Emil, Marder I or the Hotchkiss Beobachtungswagen H-38 Brews - amazing 1/48 Hobby Craft T34 modeled off the big trupeter 1/16 t34s m60a3 - Hobbycraft kit (not strictly trumpeter, but then again, this is not a strict group build) SoD Stitch - an old 1/32nd A-10A N/AW Warthog myself - with a KV if I can get one
Yes, you have said, but this should be posted, in a well edited manner, in your FIRST post. Just go back and edit it to read as follows:
TRUMPETER GROUP BUILD
Time Frame: 12/15/2006 to 2/15/2007 (may want to extend this a bit, kind of a short frame)
Rules:
List your rules here, and state whether AM parts are allowed or not.

Sorry to nitpick, but I’m just trying to be helpful. A moderator and leader of a GB should set a positive example, and should show some effort, at least in the maintenance of the GB thread.
Wow, I can’t get the post to skip line or spaces no matter how many times I press enter. When I post it, it all goes continuously on one line. I also don’t have smilies like you guys. I think this is because I am not a suscriber.
Wow, I would be very unhappy if I had found out that non-subscribers get lesser access to the forums. Try to post in the Technical help section, or contact one of the moderators.
Also, what web browser are you using, and is it updated? I ask, but as far as my own experience has demonstrated, updated versions of IE and Firefox will both work.
Hey - I’m about 3/4 done with the Sturer Emil. I love this kit. Very well designed…parts fit together well…good instructions. I’ll post some photos in a few days.
I’v unwrapped my Sturer Emil and will be starting this week once I’v finished up my AS-90 for the SPG GB.
I’m adding PE,Jordi Rubio gun barrel and Fruil’s so dont think mine will be finished for a while…then I’v got to decide which shade of grey to paint her[swg]
I’ll take some pictures tomorrow morning and post them some time during the day. I’ve completed the construction and will be proceeding with the wash/rinse/spin cycle next…so this will be a good time to take some before and after pictures.
I have to say again how much I enjoyed this kit. I just put the tracks on this afternoon and they were so tight that the idler wheels were bending outwards. I’ve temporarily “lengthened” the track by just attaching the first pair of couplers that connect the two ends of the track instead of both pairs. So this is really the first dilemma I have with this kit. I’ll need to look for replacement tracks or else figure out a way to modify the existing tracks.
Larry if you want my kit vinyl track’s drop me a mail with your address and I’ll pop them in the post to you as I dont need them. You could use them to extend your’s.[tup]
You know, I hope one of the mods comes to this guy’s assistance with the forum. Otherwise methinks this thread will die down as with previous GB efforts. And what a shame it would be if that happened, as I wanted in on this one too.
I heard that I need to post some pictures. Here are some. These are the “before” pictures, i.e. prior to washing, weathering, dry brushing, etc. So hopefully, it will look a lot better when I’m done.
