Trumpeter !/32nd Mig 21

Here are some pics of my 1/32nd scale Mig 21 in Egyptian markings. I didn’t do to much to the kit but added some detail to the cockpit and canopy. Plus I added a resin seat. This plane took a 3rd in the 1/32nd scale and larger Jet catagory at this years IPMS Nationals in Orlando.

Beautiful work, that is a big Mig!! I like the camo, looks good on this a/c. It’s not hard to see why this one would place at a show.

Nice build! Love the cockpit.

That is some seriously excellent work! Got that one in the stash - may have to move it up a few notches on the build list.

If this one was 3rd place the other two must have been out of this world. Looks pretty darn good to me!

Very nice and clean- I’ve always thought that camo scheme looked good on these MiGs.

5 stars mate!

Is that cockpit sidewall detail as it comes in the kit? If so WOW! I will defenately have to get one to do in Angolan AF sceeme

How was the over all fit ?

I completed the Trump Mig 17 1/32 and it was OK, except for the incorrect front windshield shape.

Yep, those are the kit supplied sidewalls. I bought this kit at a show (for $15) in Florida and it was partially built.especially the cockpit. I took it apart and used oven cleaner to strip the paint. I did add the detail on the canopy and used a resin seat. Overall the kit was a breeze to build, great fit and the surface detail is top notch. I might build another in the near future (scheme TBD).

Your Mig is simpiy a work of art, I love the Mig 21 and I have this kit, I must say I was thinking of doing mine as an Iraqi Mig or Hungarian I don’t know but I have to say the desert camouflage is tempting, out of curiosity how long did you take to build this and if any what aftermarket detail did you use, I ask as I never use any I like to make everything myself but were there any areas that in your opinion could have used any?

I usually don’t keep track of how long it takes me to build something, but if I remember correctly, it took about 2 months of off and on work. The only after market detail I added was a resin seat with the harness molded in (I don’t remember the manufacturer). I’m not sure what after market products are made for this kit, I know it comes with an engine. If you want to display the engine there could be some parts made for it, but the kit itself is very big and impressive. You might consider opening up some access panels to display the insides, that would be cool. Let me know what you come up with, I’d love to see it when it’s finished or even progress photos. Good luck with it.

Beautiful work! There are never enough MiGs on here!

Very, very nicely done. Quite an impressive model.

very nice looking mig-21… very realistic !
