Trumpeter 1/32 P-51D

Has anyone seen a review or any pics.

Nope, but I built the 1/24 Mustang for someone a couple of years ago. It is ok, not anything special, and the engine was not good.

Trump is mediocre, kind of like Airfix. You won’t get anything nice like resin or PE and the overall geometry is always it’s own deal, there isn’t a lot of AM. There’s others, Hasegawa which must be better, and Dragon, who knows.

Then there’s always the Tamiya in 1/48: that cannot be beat.

I personally try not to buy Chinese kits, but that’s just me.

Hi there Jeebus,
Got a link for some pics.

Also some chit chat here about it’s accuracy etc.

In the middle of a Trumpy 1:48 Seahawk FGA.Mk.6, well packaged, good mouldings, no fit issues, nice lil kit, looks good so far, I’d class Trumpy as middle stream, good for the price, if you want a replica there are better I guess, I just don’t fancy spending 3 times the cost of the kit on PE etc.
All the best,
Mick C.

Thanks guys, that helped alot, i think i’ll pass on this one, and wait for the inevitable Hase, retool, and you know it will happen sooner or later.

By no means am I a 51 expert but the windscreen/copy looks way off as far as shape to me.

(edit a few minutes after 1st post…) I looked at the last link above and the canopy is mentioned in the duscussion. But that will be one that will be tough to fix. Carve a new one and vacuform it.

Your absolutly right m8.
