Here we go
Migs in progress
Here are some cockpit pictures , these Trumpeter kits are truly awesome
I’m nearly 80%through the pit assembly , just some little detail and some weathering to do

sweet man, thats awsome
Very nice work Sean, looks like it will be a good one. Are you painting it in NMF or camo pattern?
Darren.
Cheers Guys
Will be doing her in a Silver paint job Darren
Hey Sean,
Nice indeed my friend. I especially like the instrument panel. I do have to agree with you, Trumpeter does have some very nice kits. Although you do have to take someTLC with em but otherwise they are great.
So what scheme is she gonna be in??
Flaps up, Mike
Good start, can’t wait to see more.
Jerry
The cockpit looks beautiful. Can’t wait to see the rest of the build.
cheers guys
The scheme well this is bugging me
I would like to do it as Finnish air force plane
but i can’t find any A/M deacls for it [:(]
so that leaves me to do it as a USSR one or this one

Looks great so far Sean. Keep us posted.
Regards, Rick
Looking good. Keep up the progress pics.

Now I wish I had that one. I am still trying to salvage the old Revell 1/32 scale MIG-21.

Wow Berny that paint jobs awesome or is it BMF
I’ll be using good old Humbrol 11 metallic silver on my one ,
the only thing with the Trumpeter kit is the color instrusctions are very vauge
like it says light blue for the pit ???
green for the seats ??
so i’m having to do a lot of searching on the net for colors
like a good one is the wheel wells light blue
i’ve looked at a lot of 21’s they all seem grey
oh well back to the build
thanks guys for all your comments
The paint is Model Master buffing metalizer. After I buff it out I shoot several light coats of Future on it to seal it.
The wheel wells and speedbrake wells on mine is painted green. It will be an aircraft from the North Vietnam AF. Once I get my F-4E, F-4D, MIG-17 and the MIG-21 completed, I plan on showing them all together. I plan on calling the display, “Adversaries”.
Cool
If you need them I’ll have some decals over for the Nth Vietnam AF
I just sent you my address. I could use some NV decals.
Guys,
Nice jobs on the Fishbeds! I have the same kit and plan to build mine early next year. If you’re looking for a good reference with lots of pictures of the F-13, I have the 4+ Publications book which is great, although out of print. Also, Squadron recently released a Walkaround book for the early MiG-21s that includes the F-13 (as well as asubsequent book on the later models). I don’t have that book but if it’s anything like their other Walkaround books that I’ve seen, I’d have no hesitation in recommending it highly.
Regarding VPAF (North Vietnam) F-13s, I was told that since they all came from the Soviet Union, all of them had the gray cockpits with the black instrument panel, boxes, etc. If you need more information about the wheel well colors, let me know and I’ll check out the 4+ book…can’t recall at the moment what the pictures show, although I’m leaning towards gray as opposed to the blue-green.
Quick question: Do you have to install the engine in the finished model?

I have their old walkaround book which also is very good. I also have the old Squadron MIG-21 in Action book which also is very good.

You are correct on the cockpit colors. All of my references show the cockpit the standard USSR colors. The North Vietnam AF MIG-21 PF was supplied by the Chinese and had different cockpit colors. I also have one of those to build. As for the wheel wells and speed brake wells, my reference show green. It is a lighter color than the radome, ventral and vertical fin antennas.
Quick question: Do you have to install the engine in the finished model?
Yes you do. On my Revell kits since the engine want be seen, I only paint the afterburner section.
Rick
That post didn’t come out the way I wanted it[:D]. Just read between the lines.[B)]
Same here i only painted the rear nozzles ,
the engines a pain to make
Looking great so far! I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product!
