Just outta curiousity, and since you’re the first around here to actually admit to having bought that thing, I’ll pose the question to you (that I never got an answer to, BTW) about that kit in another thread…
If someone like Revell had released a 1/32nd Stringbag at the same time as Trumpeter, and it was in the same shop next to the Trump at say, $45.00, would you still buy the Trumpeter kit, or go for the Revell version?
(I KNOW y’all know how I’d answer that, lol…)
In the same vein, did you order it with or without reading any reviews of the kit?
why did you have to do this!!! Here I am trying to find a way to get my hands on two Wing Nut kits that are setting 10,000 miles from my front door, and you then drop this one on me. Lets hope that Trumpeter decides we need a Gladiator in 1/32 scale next!

Wow, don’t think I have ever had you talk to me like that. I didn’t buy it. The kit was sent to me for a online review. Yes, I have read the available reviews. I posed a question on a Trumpeter thread recently and had some helpful responses. Though the links lead one to several reviews that are more a bash to Trumpeter than the kit. Tamiya says its an overgrown copy of its 1:48 kit. If so 1:32 guys are lucky. All I really know for the moment is is is a lot of plastic in a big box.
Is it worth the price tag? I don’t think Trumpeter was trying to cheat its customers. But then again I paid $108.00 several years back for an Aerobase 1:48 stripdown PE Fokker Dr.I and went back and bought two more.
Now Dallas Lloyd, he could really do justice to this kit. This is the first kit Trumpeter has sent me. So I’ll do the best I can.
That reminds me I have to get back and finish the reviews on the Alb. D. V , D.Va and the 2 Sopwith Pups. Hopefully they’ll be done today. They are fine kits. well worth the $59.00 per kit price tag.
well I think I’ve sorta developed a plan to get my hands on four kits now (didn’t know they did the Pup). I’ll have my kid pick them up fpr me and send them here. Sure wish they had a dealer over here as it would be ten times easier!

Typical instructions layout but Wow! the kit really lends itself to detail.
Do they give you the option to fold the wings?
Yes, definately but you have to choose either way as they don’t move once the build is completed.

Also since I won’t be able to start the build right away here is one good fellow who is doing a bang up job on his Mk.I and has a Mk.II he will do next.

Why are you having trouble getting a hold of the Wingnuts kits? Has WN stopped shipping to the USA? When I ordered my LVG a while back it arrived almost as quickly as a Squadron order.
Dallas Lloyd went with the build and I had him take some images and write some text. Its unvarnished and he critiques Trumpeter for having a great kit with poor instructions.
