Quite a beast. I get the shudders though at the thought of all that PE. Good luck with it.
You already know I’ll be on board for this one Steve.
That ship looks unusual with all of its superstructure located farther astern than the normal battleship. I’m looking forward to seeing her built up.
it’s amazing how much easier life is when your airbrush is cleaned properly , and paint thinned properly , the hull primed .
if you look properly you can see when the airbrush wasn’t going too well .
the main guns and anti aircraft guns are ready for paint , luckily there was only 62 of them , could have got tedious otherwise . ![]()
got some more painting done with a bit of camo .
always thought there was a plane launch on here . no plane in the kit though .
are you doing the Rodney as per thread title or the Nelson as per box cover?
you got me there , ffg7 , I ordered the rodney , never looked at the title , how blind can you be .
can anyone tell me how to change the title please .
anyway not sure hwhat these guns are called ,?
the top picture with the 6 single barrel gun mounts with shields are 4.7" aa guns.
the next 2 pictures.show 8 barrel 40mm 2pdr pompom aa gun mounts.
does the kit include 4x4 barrel 40mm bofors because if so then that is for the 1945 version of the Nelson as Rodney never got those gun mounts? if doing the 1945 version of Nelson then need to change the paint scheme.
Wow,fast progress,lookjng good.
the funnel done , will not be painted till the superstructure is together , so I can see where the camo goes .
Those look great - looks like you painted the inside prior to assembly. Gives it a more realistic 3-D effect. This sort of learning is why we’re on the forum. Thanks for sharing.
thankyou flankme .
the tower is now done , once again trumpeter made life difficult , they forgot to drill the hole for the mast , trying to align it with all PE now on . got me sweating .
your portside outrigger for the pe antenna should be angled the same as your starboard outrigger not the way it currently looks like.
yes. do you have a chisel blade?
