Trumpeter 1/200 Arizona Replacement Parts Available?

Who do I contact now for replacement parts for Trumpeter model kits? Stevens Internatinal or Squadron MMD? I got the 1/200 Arizona for Christmas and lost a part, B21, one of the main stern vents, to the carpet monster.

I don’t see it in stock at Stevens but it is listed as available on Squadron’s page. Whether they’ll scrap a sellable kit to send you a part is an open question, good luck!

If there are multiples and they look alike, try making one. I usually find with about an hour or so of work, I can do good ennuff that noone nos but me. Compared to all of the screwing around it takes to get a new part.

If you have a Hobby Lobby near, you can get a resin cast kit fairly cheap if you do the 40% coupon, and one of the other vents is the same or close…

Holiday greetings,

Check out my post regarding small parts search and recovery that I posted in early December inthe Ships forum and General modeling forum. It may help!

Good Luck

On your hands and knees , pat the carpet with an open hand. watch the surface of the carpet. Patting the carpet will cause anything to bounce around. A little time and a keen eye will locate most hiding bits and pieces. Hopes this helps

Keep a bright flashlight handy as well. Shine fairly flat across the rug as you look over every square inch. Helps make parts stand out.

Put some pantyhose over the end of the vacuum cleaner hose or small tool and vacuum the carpet. You’ll be amazed at the parts you will find when you dump the lint and stuff out on the table from the pantyhose.

Can’t you just make the thing?

Thank you for all the advice! I found it a few hours ago.

Stevens International is the way to go. Last time I got replacement parts from them I used this email addy: lauracarney@stevenshobby.com I needed one tiny part; They sent the entire sprue. They did charge me $5.00 for postage and handling; Turnaround was very quick.

BTW…I just had a look at Stevens International’s website and, Laura is still their customer service person. Her phone number is on the website’s masthead…
